What you should know before you build..
We know that if you have purchased a lot in Malvern of Madison, you may be eager to get started building on your lot. Before you start building, there are a few things that need to be done...
- You must submit your complete final plans, a copy of your health department permit, and a copy of your plot showing the building location along with your Application Packet to the Malvern Architectual Committee.
- Your structure must meet the minimum square footage requirements of Malvern:
- 1 story house must have at least 1500 sf. of living space
- 1.5 story house must have at least 1200 sf. on first level
+ 600 sf. on second level
- 2 story house must have at least 2200 sf. of living space
- Your structure must meet Malvern set back requirements unless prior written consent is obtained from the Architectual and Envoronmental Committee:
-100 feet from the edge of all roads
- 60 feet from the edge of all lot lines
- Construction vehicles have a high potential to cause excessive amounts of damage to roads within the Malvern community. You and your contractor should be aware that you are liable for these damages. Malvern requires that the following fees and deposits be paid before breaking ground:
-A non-refundable $1000 road impact fee from the contractor
-A refundable deposit of $1500 from the contractor
-A refundable deposit of $1000 from the lot owner
- The Malvern Building Application packet contains detailed information about all of these requirements and the rules that lot owners and contractors must abid by during the construction process in Malvern of Madison. Please Print and read the Building Application Packet Carefully. Your completed building application can be submitted in person at a monthly board meeting or by mailing it to the following address:
