Checks are made payable to Malvern Club, Inc. and can be sent to Malvern Club, Inc., 905 Malvern Drive, Madison, VA 22727. The minimum payment is $300. Total annual assessment for 2014 is $525. Optional annual additional payments are $20 for pool use and $15 for a boat slip.

Roads Committee - A message from the outgoing Chair:
"I want to thank the members of Malvern of Madison for the privilege to serve on the Board. It has been an excellent experience. However, no one has stepped up to serve on the Board since I announced I would not be running for another term. Whoever joins the Board is not guaranteed to be Chairman of the Road Committee. The Board decides who does what after they are elected to serve.

I am proud to be a member here in Malvern and want our neighborhood to continue to improve. I am amazed at the lethargic attitude of others that just don't care. If we don't volunteer to serve, the next alternative is a management company. To use a management company cost money and will surely mean a steep rise in dues. I am not in favor of that and hope you are not as well. Please take responsibility and join a team of wonderful people that want to keep up your property values by maintaining our community assets."

Sincerely,
Wallace Harvey

Madison County History Bits - 1889:
Click HERE Woodberry Forest School began as a school in September 1889. First it was "at home" schooling for the six sons of Bob Walker and his wife, Anne. Other families asked to include their children and, soon school enrollment increased to 53 students by 1896. Tuition in 1900 was $524/year and included board, fuel, laundry, lights and mending.

A home on the property known as "The Residence," was home to William Madison, James' older brother, and his family. Today, this handsome home is occupied by the Headmaster of Woodberry Forest School.

Did You Know? - There is a Malvern Ladies Lunch Group:
Are you looking for stimulating conversation and friendly chatter?? Both are available when you join the Ladies at Malvern for lunch every two months. We get together in January, March, May, July, September, and November. We share rides (more time to visit that way and it saves on gas) and we go to a restaurant in the area.

If you would like to be on the call list to learn the dates of upcoming lunches, call Ann at 540-948-5365.
